由时任越共政府，即在南方于越南共和国游击作战的越南南方共和国设立于1966年7月6日，高于解放战士，旨在表彰参与前线战斗的士兵。1975年西贡沦陷，1976年越共和北越合并，该章停止颁发新的获得者，但之前有资格者仍旧被越南社会主义共和国政府继续授予，本版本则为社会主义共和国版本。
